Day 14 of 90 (progress pics)

Hey guys,

This is a special one.

Okay, so our day started with no breakfast- I know ya'll get mad when I don't have breakfast, but trust me, I don't plan this! I am a hugeeee breakfast person, but sometimes it just doesn't work out, and today was one of those day.

Then, we got blessed with a Walmart gift card by one of ya'll!! Someone noticed in my last blog post that we were running out of food and decided to help us out. That was a such a blessing, so we were able to go grocery shopping!

For lunch I made this white chicken chilli which is pretty much a staple around here. It's so easy to make on the instant pot, and so yummy with some brown rice. I'm not really abiding by my "no dairy" rule, but honestly that's mostly with milk. (I use only plant-based milks and sometimes lactose free when I'm feeling crazy). I know how my body reacts to different types of dairy, and not all of them bloat me or make me feel bad. There is cream cheese in this recipe and it doesn't make me sick.

For dinner, I made tostadas that honestly were more like tacos lol. I wanted a veggie meal, so this only contained beans, green chiles, diced tomatoes, cheese, and avocado. It hit the spot. I also put a salsa over it (not pictured).

I did have some snacks in between that I honestly don't remember, but I didn't starve today- it's important that you know that, because I know this doesn't seem like much. However, my hunger levels are for sure leveling out.

Okay, this will be my fav part of the blog. So, I went to the doctor a few days ago and was disappointed that I didn't see a difference in my weight (numbers-wise). I wasn't super discouraged, but I did get a little sad. I expressed my thoughts to my friend Bryan today, and he told me to not focus so much on the scale, but to take progress pictures every week for motivation. I hadn't taken a picture since day 1, so I took some today just to compare. After putting them side by side, I cried. My bloating has significantly decreased- I'm seeing a real difference just 14 days in. What I love about this milestone (yes, I am calling it a milestone), is that this journey has been different than any other "diet" that I've done. I put "diet" in quotations, because this isn't a diet to me- this is me changing my lifestyle and relationship with food indefinitely. Before this journey, I would tend to go cold-turkey on anything remotely bad for 30 days, loose 10 pounds, and gain them all back because I start eating like trash again. I was tired of the reoccurring cycle and frankly, I was miserable during all those diets. So this time around, I chose not to deprive myself of the foods I love. Instead, I made healthier choices (according to my knowledge on food), added more veggies to my meals, and drank LOTS of water. You see my meals every day- not all of them are air and spinach. This proves that you can still enjoy life while making better choices! I feel encouraged today. Thank you for being my accountability partner. <3

*excuse my red face and messy hair on the right, I took this RIGHT after a work out. Also, I told you I would clean my mirror- hahaha.
